Made with beef, stewing beer and gingerbread, Flemish carbonade or carbonnade is a delicious dish.
Ingredients for 5-6 people:
- 1 kg of beef meat (bourguignon meat)
- 1 liter of beer for aging (type 3 Monts, Goudale, Jeanlain)
- 500 g of gingerbread
- 2 sheets of laurel
- 3 onions
Flemish carbonade is a simple, economical and easy to prepare recipe while being delicious and tasty!
Flemish carbonade recipe
> Start by cutting the beef (if it has not been done by your butcher) into large pieces of about 5 cm.
> Peel the onions and chop them not too finely.
Heat the pot with a little oil
> Brown the pieces of meat for a few minutes and then add the onions for 2 to 3 minutes.
> Pour in the beer so that the meat is completely covered and add the bay leaves.
> Crumble the gingerbread on top.
Cook over low heat and cover for 1h30 to 2 hours
> Mix regularly to prevent it sticking to the bottom of the pot.
