Plantation of ismene

Prefer a plantation in spring by covering the bulb only very lightly.

  • Choose a location that is sunny or lightly shaded but warm enough.

Hymenocalle will not grow in full ground only in regions where the climate is sufficiently hot in summer and winter.

Outside, prefer a pot culture or take care to put the bulbs in a cool and ventilated place as soon as the temperatures approach 5 °, even at night.

Maintenance of ismene

Remove faded flowers as you go. This helps promote the appearance of new flowers.

Wait until the foliage is totally yellowed before cutting it because the plant needs this step to replenish its reserves for the next flowering.

AT know about ismene

Also called Spider Lily or sea daffodil, Ismène is original and particularly sophisticated, this plant offers a very beautiful flowering throughout the summer period.

It needs heat to develop in the ground: it therefore prefers Mediterranean climates.

You get it, Ismene is a demanding plant, but its beauty deserves to be cultivated.

Smart tip about ismene

If you live in an area with a cooler climate, opt for a container culture and only put the plant outdoors during the warmer months.
